We have just completed handover today for our beautiful home. Our supervisor was Paul Davies and we could not be happier with his project management and customer service.
His knowledge in the trade was very noticeable and made a big difference in the final product!
Many weekends I seen him at our place (with his tool belt on) doing over and above to make sure our house was on track!

We have been working with Jeremy for the past few months in the planning stage of our build. I cannot speak highly enough of Jeremy. He has been exceptionally patient with some initial hurdles related to land, and has always answered our long list of questions.
Throughout the design phase, he has provided practical suggestions that meet our budget and provide value and appeal to the property. He has always been highly professional and prompt in his communication.

Building our new home with Dechellis was not a difficult decision after spending time with Daniel our Sales consultant. His expertise and knowledge in the building industry, and his patience with us as being first time builders has given us a Dechellis floor plan, with some modifications, which will suit our family to enjoy now and in the future years.
Having visited many display homes Dechellis’ quality and attention to detail was our number one. Watching the stages of our new home being built and our choices of selections coming to life has reassured us of our decision.

We are extremely happy that we chose Dechellis to build our home. It was an amazing journey from the initial consultation to this day, marking the third month of us moving in.
Yes, there were problems, but the solutions they came up were better than the original plan. We have worked so closely with them throughout the planning and building phase, some of them even feel like family to us.
One major non-conventional joint of our house was Fish room for my tropical fishes. I thought I would have a hard time explaining the temperature and humidity control requirements, but to my surprise, they had previous experience with fish room and it was a breeze planning this.
On a financial point of view, they finished the build more than a month ahead of schedule and was even flexible to a last-minute pre-ponding of handover date allowing us to make the best use of bank holiday weekend to move in. Little favours like this saved us heaps in rent and avoid taking moving dayoff work etc.
I am filling up the 3 month defect form and there is literally no defects I need to report, that is how much attention to detail had gone into this build. As an Engineer myself, I had been regurlary checking in with tradespersons on site and I was very impressed with Decheillis choice of tradies. Caspa Electricals and Sampina Joinery needs special mention.
We had the Grande inclusions and most items on it are already top of the range and didn’t need upgrading in our case. I guess upgrades are more of a social status than convenience.
I would like to send a special thanks to our Site supervisor, without your clam, cool and friendly approach working with us, it would not have been the same experience for us. Thankyou for make our dream come true.

The design and planning seemed to take forever but the attention to detail throughout this process has given us a truly beautiful home. Once the earthworks and foundations were laid and our supervisor Tony took over the build things really sped up and the build was completed in 5 months. All the trades were very friendly and professional and always made us feel welcome when we were on site. Tony was always available to answer any concerns we might have had and worked hard to complete the home for us. The way my house was presented in front of me was nothing I had ever imagined. The company also gave me great respect even though I had a hard day at work. They made me feel calm and relaxed while talking to them in person, and also to speak to the workers over the phone. I was shocked to see my house in perfection just the way I wanted it. From day one building of our house with Dechellis we had high level of confidence. Visited lots of home displays and decision was actually very easy. Great designs and striking quality were very hard to match by other builders. Building process were prompt. Had change of site manager but it did not disrupt project. As a matter of fact everything went even better. Customer service and support during building was very good. It was a positive experience building my new home with Dechellis. The project was not entirely straight forward, as it involved a land sub-division, but the quality of the service I received from my first contact right through to completion was exceptional, and I am also delighted with the quality of the finished product.
My initial reason for choosing Dechellis was the attractiveness of their designs and the flexible floor plans. From the start I was particularly drawn to one particular design, the McLaren, which suited my needs, and it seemed particularly good value for its size. I also went for the `As Displayed’ option, which was worth the extra cost in terms of the ‘wow factor’ of the end result, and what you see in the display home is what you get. The sales consultant who I dealt with at the display home at Aldinga was in tune with my needs, and was able to modify and further increase the size of the floor plan to better suit my block, which affected the final build cost only slightly. He was also amazingly patient with my many requests for other small changes. The subsequent selections process was handled very efficiently, and I was very happy with the suppliers and the wide range of options available.
The new house was built at the rear of a large block in the inner north eastern suburbs; this was a `hammerhead’ sub-division, and prior to as well as during the build, I was living in and renovating the old Art Deco house at the front of the block. While the subdivision and renovation project was something that I organized and supervised myself, close co-ordination was necessary with Dechellis while they built the new house, and their help and advice during this process was invaluable. There were many challenges, including difficult access to the rear of the block during much of the build, and the planning and installation of new sewer, gas & water services for both houses. The construction manager and the building supervisor worked with me with considerable professionalism and flexibility so that the entire project flowed well and was completed in 5 months, despite a very wet winter.
Living right next to the build was a pretty full-on experience, but it did give me the opportunity to keep a close eye on things and I enjoyed chatting with the tradesmen from time to time. Maintaining close contact with everything was helpful I think, and I found it hard to fault the quality of the work at all stages. When the brickies came on site, the supervisor arranged for them to talk to me about different options for the mortar joints. They showed me examples and I ended up changing from the originally selected flush joints to much neater looking rolled joints, which I am very happy with.
By handover in late June 2014, everything had been completed to my satisfaction, and three months after that my list of things to be fixed at the Scheduled Maintenance visit was very short indeed. I’ve now been in the new house for over 3 months and I continue to be very happy with the excellent design and the quality of the build. It’s also a particularly comfortable house to live in, and very energy efficient – helped by the northerly aspect combined with LED lighting and good insulation. It is hard to fault the whole process – perhaps my only regret is that I didn’t up-grade the shower screens during the selection process, as the standard framed ones supplied are a bit light-weight, but still attractive and very adequate nevertheless.
In summary, I would highly recommend Dechellis Homes. Building with them was an exciting and satisfying experience. I was careful to maintain very close and regular communication with them during the whole process, helped by living so close to the site, but I’ve ended up with a great and well built house that is set to stand the test of time.
This project was the 2nd time I have built a new home, but the first time I’ve used Dechellis Homes as the builder. The reason for choosing Dechellis was as much as anything else the quick response times we received from the sales person we dealt with.
All dealings with Dechellis were very professional and efficient and the end result was an excellent home built very efficiently and without any problems.
Our site building manager (David) was very easy to deal with. He always answered my phone calls and he always delivered the things he said he would do, when he would do them.
I would recommend building a new home with Dechellis Homes and I will probably build with them again in the future.
