Our clients brief was to design their home around the courtyard. In doing so, there are views of the courtyard regardless of where you are in the lower level of this home. The open living area is light and bright with large windows capturing views of the backyard and courtyard. A key feature of this area is the corner stacker doors that open to the alfresco area. In order to have this style of door, additional steel reinforcement to the homes structure was required to support the upper level off the home. In doing this, there is a seamless flow of the two spaces where the indoor and outdoor become one. It is a definite highlight of the home design. A guest bedroom and home theatre is also located on the lower level.
The upper level features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, retreat area and 2.7m ceilings. The master bedroom is extremely spacious and features a study, WIR and a luxurious ensuite. The rear of the upper level is perfectly designed for children/teenagers with 3 bedrooms, large bathroom and a generous private retreat area with balcony overlooking the feature courtyard.
The home interior is beautifully finished, where the elegance from the façade is continued into the home. The joinery throughout the home includes routed doors in a 2 pac finish. The kitchen and all wet areas include stone benchtops. The kitchen features white gloss bevelled edge 200×100 tiled splashback, 40mm stone tops the island and decorative shelving in Laminex Avignon Walnut.
